How we do it
Our process follows a 3 step approach that enables us to develop a plan unique to you:
Step 1: We schedule an initial meeting to discuss your situation. On the Sunshine Coast we invite you into our Maroochydore office. Alternatively, we may meet at a location of your choosing. This might be at home, in hospital or in a care facility. Outside of the Sunshine Coast we can meet you via phone or video conferencing.
Step 2: During our initial meeting we will find out more about you and your situation. We will agree on what services are to be provided. For example, you may require us only to provide you with a comparison of your aged care funding options; or you may require us to also liaise with Centrelink/DVA on your behalf. You may even want us to liaise directly with your chosen aged care facility on your behalf to negotiate your fees and to manage your placement.
Step 3: We will provide you with a formal Statement of Advice containing our recommendations. Your Statement of Advice will allow you to easily compare your options and how each option will affect your aged care fees, your Centrelink/DVA benefits, your cash flow, the amount of tax you pay and also how the value of your assets will be impacted over time. Included in your Statement of Advice will be a clear summary of the steps you need to take in order to move forward with your entry into aged care.
